Ridge Vineyards Monte Bello 2010
|Region||California, Central Coast, Santa Cruz Mountains|
Wine EnthusiastOne of the lowest-alcohol prestige Cabs on the market, Ridge's 2010 bottling is dry, softly tannic and light in body for a Cabernet Sauvignon. Yet it's complex in flavor, offering tiers of blackberries, cherries, currants, herbs and spices. Wants some time, but not a lot. Drink 2015-2018.
Wine SpectatorBordeaux-like in terms of structure, austerity and taut flavor profile, this is well done, offering a mix of dried berry, herb, cherry, road tar, smoke and graphite notes, ending with licorice-laced tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2016 through 2030. 3,250 cases made.
