A stylish, appealing red, offering juicy and generous black and red cherry fruit flavors, with accents of cured tobacco, violet, India ink and licorice string. The 2019 Reserva Seleccion is 100% Tempranillo sourced from San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Abalos, Rioja Alta. Aged for 16 months in new oak barrels, 50-50 American and French, this purplish wine features a blackberry core along with prominent vanilla, smoke and cedar notes; the oak sets the tone. Dry and plush on the palate, the well-wrapped chalky tannins lead to a juicy, oaky finish. This is a decidedly New World expression of Rioja.
